Lewis Appointed Chair of Access to Justice Commission

George T. "Buck" Lewis of Baker Donelson is now chair of the state Supreme Court's Access to Justice Commission, which seeks to make legal representation more accessible.

Lewis is a shareholder in the Memphis office of the law firm and served as president of the Tennessee Bar Association from 2008 to 2009. During that time, he launched the "4ALL" campaign for people who otherwise could not afford legal services. The campaign resulted in rule changes and an increase in attorneys offering services for free.

Since his time as TBA president, Lewis also has overseen the launch of OnlineTNJustice.org. The website allows visitors to get free legal advice from volunteer attorneys. It is a joint effort between the TBA and the Tennessee Alliance for Legal Services.
