Foundation Part of Initiative to Help Women Prosper

The Women's Foundation for a Greater Memphis (WFGM) is helping launch an initiative called A Partnership for Women's Prosperity with help from a $3.4 million grant from the Walmart Foundation.
Other participating organizations include the Washington Area Women's Foundation, the New York Women's Foundation, the Women's Fund of Mississippi, the Women's Foundation of Minnesota, and the Women's Funding Network. All six organizations are using the grant money to support job training, employment, access to education, and leadership development for economically vulnerable women.
WFGM's two-year, $400,000 piece of the grant is expected to help 430 local women. The money will be distributed in grants to local nonprofit orgs.
