Literacy Mid-South Announces Staff Changes
Alfred Garrett has been promoted to director of adult programs at Literacy Mid-South, while Stacy Early is now a part-time student liaison at the nonprofit organization that serves the tri-state area.
Before his promotion, Garrett, who is from Memphis, served as adult programs manager. His new responsibilities include setting and maintaining program policies and measuring outcomes.
Early, who is from Michigan, still works part-time in the marketing department of Whole Foods Market when she isn't at Literacy Mid-South. She is now in charge of student assessments and class placements, as well as matching tutors with students. She also assigns volunteer teachers to their classes.
Literacy Mid-South works to promote child and adult literacy through advocacy, research, family literacy workshops, and resource development.
